Cecil is a specialist commercial insurance comparison service being built for UK SMEs — covering 150+ industries, from sole traders in the trades to professional services firms, growing hospitality businesses, and mid-market operations with more complex needs. We are not yet authorised by the FCA and are currently taking registrations ahead of our full launch.

Commercial insurance in the UK is fragmented and often confusing. Different businesses need different combinations of public liability, employers liability, professional indemnity, and specialist covers — but the market makes it difficult to understand what is actually required, what each policy does, and which insurers have the claims-handling standards worth trusting. Cecil is being built to solve that problem.

Our approach will be straightforward. You tell us about your business and what you need to protect, and your details are passed to FCA-authorised brokers who can find options that fit. No jargon, no generic policies, no pressure. When we launch, Cecil will only pass enquiries to brokers who meet our standards for claims-handling quality — because cover that does not pay out when you need it is not cover at all.

We cover 150+ UK industry sectors, from electricians and builders to accountants, care homes, restaurants, and ecommerce businesses. Each industry page on this site outlines the specific risks, common cover types, and legal requirements relevant to that sector — because the right insurance for a gas engineer is not the same as the right insurance for a marketing agency.
